Buddhadeb Chatterjee is Welcomed as Group Corporate Chef of the Citi Residenci Group of Hotels

The Citi Residenci Group of Hotels has named Buddhadeb Chatterjee as its Group Corporate Chef. In this capacity, he will oversee the culinary operations of four MISE hotels, fifteen QSR eateries operating under the “THEQUE” brand, and the POTHER PANCHALI chain of specialty Bengali restaurants. In addition, he oversees the central kitchen and bakery, as well as two new hotels operating under the IHCL brand.

Chef Chatterjee previously held the position of Vice President at the India International Culinary & Hotelier’s Forum, where he represented the Indian division and helped the organization flourish.

As the Culinary Director of the DoubleTree by Hilton Varanasi, he oversaw the pre-opening of a five-star luxurious hotel with 150 rooms and ample banquet facilities. He was in charge of managing the kitchen, making sure that food was safe, and upholding the highest standards for food preparation and presentation.

In addition, Chef Chatterjee was General Manager of KPS Group in Bhopal, MP, where he oversaw quality control and all hotel operations. He was the Director of Food and Beverage at V.N. Inn Pvt Ltd in Chhattisgarh, where he oversaw baking, new restaurant openings, and inventory control.

He oversaw banquet operations, food preparation, and safety as the Group Corporate Chef at a hotel, restaurant, and catering in Durgapur, West Bengal, earlier in his career. He was the Executive Chef at Rani Indian Bistro in Boston, USA, where he oversaw the creation of new menu items, branding, and upholding strict hygienic standards in accordance with HACCP regulations.

In addition, Chef Chatterjee worked as the Corporate Chef at Lucknow’s JHV Construction Company Private Limited, where he oversaw food production, created new recipes, and guaranteed culinary quality. He oversaw the pre-opening of a four-star deluxe hotel while serving as Executive Chef at V.N. Inn Pvt Ltd (Hotel Ananda Imperial) in Bilaspur, Chhattisgarh.

His prior positions included Sous Chef at Sarovar Groups, Senior Sous Chef at the Radisson Hotel in Chennai, and Executive Trainer Chef at DSMS Groups of Company. He began his career with the Express Group of Hotels as a Management Trainee and went on to work for Trident Hotels and UP Hotels Limited in Clarks Amer.

Chef Chatterjee graduated from Burdwan University with a B.Com. and IIAS Kolkata with a degree in hotel management. After finishing a culinary program at City Guild University in London, he is presently working toward an MBA in hotel management. He is also working on a research project that will involve using herbs as ingredients in desserts in the future and a Nutronomix for kids.
