Cheval Collection, renowned for its portfolio of luxury serviced apartments, has announced the appointment of Tom Gibson as General Manager. Gibson will oversee the group’s esteemed properties in Edinburgh, a city integral to Cheval Collection’s expansion strategy.
Gibson joins Cheval Collection from Virgin Hotels, where he served as General Manager of their Glasgow property, bringing with him a wealth of experience in the luxury hospitality sector. His career highlights include managing The Glasshouse, Edinburgh, a notable Autograph Collection hotel, and holding a significant role as Director of Operations at the Dalmahoy Marriott Hotel & Country Club.
Cheval Collection’s presence in Edinburgh encompasses three distinctive properties: Cheval The Edinburgh Grand on St Andrew Square, Cheval Old Town Chambers on the Royal Mile, and Cheval Abbey Strand Apartments near the Palace of Holyroodhouse. These residences collectively offer 133 luxurious apartments, catering to discerning travelers seeking premium accommodations in Scotland’s capital.
The group’s commitment to excellence is underscored by its membership in the Global Hotel Alliance, distinguishing Cheval Collection as the sole serviced apartment operator in Europe within this prestigious network. This affiliation underscores Cheval’s dedication to delivering unparalleled service and experiences to its guests.
Looking ahead, Cheval Collection is poised for further growth with plans to expand its footprint through strategic management agreements. In 2025, the group anticipates the launch of Cheval Maison – West Regent in Glasgow, marking its fourth property in Scotland.
