Donald Trump Running Mate JD Vance Calls UK “Truly Islamist State With Nuclear Weapons

Former US President Donald Trump’s running mate, JD Vance, caused a sensation when he said that the UK under Labour may be the first “truly Islamist” nation to possess nuclear weapons.

Vance claimed to have been debating with a buddy which nation would be the first to acquire a nuclear weapon and be considered a “truly Islamist country.”

At a UK Conservatives conference last week, he remarked, “Maybe it’s Iran, maybe Pakistan kind of counts, and then we sort of decided maybe it’s actually the UK since Labour just took over.”

Meanwhile, Vance’s statements were downplayed by British Deputy Prime Minister Angela Rayner, who said that Vance had a history of making “fruity” remarks.

According to Angela Rayner, Britain will cooperate with the winner of the US presidential election in November, but “I don’t recognise that characterisation”.

“We’re interested in governing on behalf of Britain, and also working with our international allies,” she stated.

Vance also called China the greatest threat to the United States in one of his first interviews following his selection as vice presidential candidate, highlighting the administration’s expected hostile posture toward Beijing should they win.

The Ohio senator said as much during a Monday interview with Sean Hannity of Fox News. Vance responded to a question concerning the conflict in Ukraine by saying that Trump will negotiate to “bring this thing to a rapid close so America can focus on the real issue, which is China.”

“That’s the biggest threat to our country and we are completely distracted from it,” he stated.

Days after a botched assassination attempt on the former president turned an already tumultuous presidential election upside down, Vance, 39, was selected by Trump.
