Oil tanker capsizes off Oman,13 Indians missing after oil tanker capsizes
The Maritime Security Centre (MSC) of the sultanate said that an oil tanker that crashed off the coast of Oman on Monday caused the whole crew of sixteen people—13 of whom were Indians—to go missing.
Three additional people in the crew were from Sri Lanka.
According to a post on X by the MSC, an oil tanker flying the flag of Comoros overturned 25 nautical miles southeast of Ras Madrakah, close to the port town of Duqm.

Situated near the Sultanate’s main oil and gas mining complexes, including a sizable oil refinery that is a component of Duqm’s expansive industrial zone—Oman’s largest single economic project—is the port of Duqm, which is situated on the country’s southwest coast.
Prestige Falcon is the new name for the yacht. It stated, “The crew of the ship are still missing,” while the hunt went on.
The maritime website marinetraffic.com said that the oil tanker was sailing towards the port city of Aden in Yemen.
According to maritime records, the 2007-built oil products tanker has a length of 117 meters.
