Marriott International is pleased to announce the appointment of industry veteran Clark Albright as the new Director of Sales & Marketing at the iconic JW Marriott Desert Springs Resort & Spa in Palm Desert. In this comprehensive role, Albright will oversee the sprawling 450-acre property, which features 884 guest rooms, including 101 suites, a 38,000-square-foot spa, and a variety of event venues.

A Distinguished Career in the Marriott Brand

Bringing nearly 40 years of experience within the Marriott brand, Clark Albright is a seasoned leader with a remarkable track record. His career includes a variety of sales and leadership positions at numerous prestigious Marriott properties, such as LAX Marriott, Marriott Marquis San Diego Marina, Newport Beach Marriott, Irvine Marriott, Westin LAX, and JW Marriott Las Vegas. His proven success at both property and above-property levels highlights his exceptional ability to drive organizational success through strategic leadership and collaboration.

Responsibilities and Goals

In his new role, Albright will be responsible for managing the sales and marketing teams at JW Marriott Desert Springs Resort & Spa. He will provide day-to-day leadership, fostering a culture of diverse thinking to achieve booking goals and property revenues. His duties include managing both reactive and proactive sales efforts to meet sales objectives and cultivating corporate relationships for sales, group, and leisure business.

Albright will also oversee the marketing budget, enabling the development of property-specific campaigns, promotions, and collateral to drive revenue and meet property objectives. His previous role as Market Sales Leader for Arizona and Nevada saw him lead a sales transformation effort, Starwood Integration, and generate over $500 million in top-line revenue for 33 Marriott-managed properties.

Most recently, as the Director of Sales at JW Marriott Camelback Inn, Albright led his team through a post-Covid recovery that resulted in two consecutive record-setting years. His ability to drive success through challenging times underscores his strategic acumen and leadership prowess.
