MMGY Global, the world’s leading integrated marketing agency specializing in the travel, tourism and hospitality industries, announced Thursday the promotion of Justin Farmer to the new role of Chief Growth Officer, effective Jan. 2. A 14-year veteran of the company and previously an Executive Vice President, Farmer brings with him more than 20 years of experience in integrated marketing and business strategy.
As Chief Growth Officer, Farmer will leverage his industry expertise and service-driven mindset to propel revenue growth and reinforce the company’s position as a global leader in travel and hospitality marketing. Overseeing a team of 15 professionals across the Americas and EMEA divisions, he will focus on strategic business development, innovative partnerships, high-profile events, thought leadership and agency positioning. Under Farmer’s guidance, MMGY has secured marquee accounts with globally recognized brands such as Hyatt, Six Flags Entertainment Corporation and Pure Michigan.
Since joining MMGY Global in 2010, Farmer has held key leadership roles in integrated marketing, creative and strategy. Early in his tenure, he spearheaded innovative, award-winning campaigns for travel brands such as Lufthansa, Costa Rica Tourism and hometown client Visit KC. These experiences deepened his understanding of client needs and the complexities of the global travel and hospitality industry.
A graduate of the University of Central Missouri and a recognized thought leader within the industry, Farmer was recently named to the HSMAI Americas Board. He has also lent his time and perspective to organizations such as the U.S. Travel Association, Destinations International and the Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA). Currently, he serves as Board President for Camp Encourage, a Kansas City nonprofit that empowers youth on the autism spectrum through meaningful social experiences that help build skills, familiarity and courage.
Accompanying Farmer and Briscoe on the Global Leadership Team are Hugh McConnell (Chief Financial Officer), Mia Wise (Chief Human Resources Officer), Craig Compagnone (President, Americas) and Caroline Moultrie (President, EMEA). Headquartered in the Kansas City metro since its founding in 1981, MMGY Global has grown to nearly 600 teammates and 14 offices worldwide.
