The General Manager of the InterContinental Halong Bay Resort and Residences is now Jesper Larsen.
Jesper Larsen has been named General Manager of the soon-to-open InterContinental Halong Bay Resort and Residences by IHG Hotels & Resorts, one of the top hotel chains in the world.
With more than 20 years of experience in the hospitality sector, Jesper brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise from Greater China, Japan, Vietnam, and Europe to his new position at this gorgeous resort and residences close to one of the most famous locations in Vietnam.
“I am genuinely thrilled to open IHG’s first property in Halong City. Vietnam is one of the most exciting growth destinations in Asia. With more than 75 years of history, the InterContinental Hotels & Resorts brand is the first and largest international luxury hotel brand in the world. With its recent revolutionary brand evolution, we are excited to start a new chapter and introduce distinctive brand differentiators that are designed for the contemporary luxury traveler. Jesper Larsen says, “I am excited to offer our residents and guests a warm dose of Vietnamese hospitality along with a symphony of immersive and expertly curated guest and culinary experiences, all while promoting the stunning Halong area’s tourism growth.” IHG is expanding into the Quang Ninh province of Vietnam with this destination debut, which is being held in collaboration with longstanding partner Ha Long Investment and Development Limited Company, a member of the BIM Group. It strengthens the property portfolio of BIM and IHG, which already includes the Regent Phu Quoc, InterContinental Phu Quoc Long Beach Resort, Crowne Plaza Vientiane, and an upcoming Holiday Inn Vientiane. This is evidence of their solid ten-year partnership.
With its beachfront location in Halong Bay, a UNESCO World Heritage site with over 1,600 islands, InterContinental Halong Bay Resort and Residences is ideally situated at the gateway to Halong City. As Halong Bay’s first international luxury resort, the property sets itself apart with immersive resort facilities, complete with its very own private beach and an enviable view of Halong Bay’s famous limestone karst structures.
The property is located two hours’ drive from Hanoi and offers 174 rooms and suites at the resort, as well as 41 villas and 60 apartments with one to three bedrooms each. Facilities include four pools, a kids’ club, a spa, five restaurants and bars that will take visitors on a gastronomic tour of Asia and beyond, and a premier meeting space that can hold up to 500 people.
Across its six brands—Six Senses, Regent Hotels & Resorts, InterContinental Hotels & Resorts, Crowne Plaza Hotels & Resorts, Voco Hotels, and Holiday Inn Hotels & Resorts—IHG has eighteen open hotels in Vietnam. It plans to open at least 26 more hotels in the country within the next three years, including the InterContinental Halong Bay Resort and Residences, more than doubling its portfolio.
