IHCL announces a new Taj hotel Ranchi, marking its first entry into the city
The Indian Hotels Company (IHCL) has signed a contract for a Taj hotel in Ranchi, Jharkhand. This greenfield project, which marks IHCL’s first entrance into Ranchi, will be constructed on a six-acre plot of land leased from the Jharkhand government.
Puneet Chhatwal, Managing Director and CEO of IHCL, commented on the expansion, saying, “We are thrilled to bring the legendary Taj brand to Ranchi, a city with enormous growth potential. Ranchi’s strategic position and continuous transition into a smart city make it an appealing destination. This agreement is consistent with our aim of expanding our footprint in the region, which is rapidly turning into a major industrial, economic, and cultural hub.”
The hotel’s ideal position in Dhurwa provides exceptional connectivity and visibility. The 200-key Taj Hotel Ranchi will provide visitors with a variety of modern facilities, including expansive banqueting rooms, a broad array of food and beverage options, and a well-equipped wellness center.
Ranchi is undergoing considerable infrastructure development aimed at developing it into a smart city. The hotel’s position in the main capital region will put it at the heart of the city’s new central business district, close to the Vidhan Sabha, government buildings, and corporate headquarters. With the addition of this hotel, IHCL will have six hotels in Jharkhand, with one under construction.
