This was the unnerving story shared by a Reddit member who requested that their Uber driver turn on the air conditioning in the taxi. The traveler was left in the middle of an unexpected, terrifying encounter that had a lasting impact.
On the ‘Bangalore’ subreddit, Reddit member ‘Nerdy-oged’ posted about their terrifying experience. “I requested the driver to turn on the air conditioning once I got in the car, mostly to keep dust out. The drivers began to remark, “Why AC? You cancel the ride,” in Kannada, according to the Redditor. The user went on to say that they kindly requested to be dropped off immediately and that they did not want to ride in the driver’s vehicle.However, this was the tipping point.
The user claims that the Uber driver lost it. “He turned on the air conditioning right away and got behind the wheel like a crazy person. Brake abruptly, accelerate quickly, and continue driving carelessly. The user wrote, “I thought a sudden jerk like this might trigger the dizziness because I have vertigo problems.”
Uber Safety recommended the user to get out at a safe spot and to phone them right away, but the driver did not stop there. “Somehow this driver understood that I complained and he wrote my name and residential block details on paper and told me that he knows pick-up location and gesture that he will take action,” said a Redditor.

“It’s not just about talking in Kannada,” a person said. “I was scammed by these idiots because I am a Kannadiga who was new to the city.” All they need is a reason to bother others. I apologize for putting you through this.”
Solutions were suggested by other users. “Tweet at Uber that his information and you were threatened. Send them an email requesting confirmation of the activity. They’ll be equipped to handle it. Well, calm, most of these fools simply make noise. As for his knowing your address. I still have a lot of these visitors that I want to entertain,” another person commented.
