Auberge Resorts Collection’s Collegio alla Querce in Florence has named Francesco Ascani as its general manager.

The announcement of Francesco Ascani’s appointment as General Manager of Auberge Resorts Collection’s Collegio alla Querce is made with great pleasure.

Anticipated to open in late 2024, Auberge Resort Collection’s Collegio alla Querce will become a part of its remarkable global portfolio consisting of 27 unique hotels, resorts, and residences. This marks an exciting next step in the brand’s deliberate European expansion.

Ascani, who has nearly thirty years of experience in the luxury hotel industry, joins the Auberge team in advance of the much-awaited Collegio alla Querce Auberge debut. Ascani was born and raised in Rome and has extensive experience in the luxury hospitality sector in Italy. He has held executive positions at the Hotel de Russie, which is owned by Rocco Forte, Villa Agrippina, a Gran Melia Hotel in Rome, and Chia Laguna Resort, which is located in Sardinia. He oversaw the pre-opening plan and the new property’s launch phases while he was employed by Melia, which put him in a great position to assist with the Collegio alla Querce Auberge opening. Ascani most recently held the roles of General Manager and Chief Operating Officer at Borgo Pignano, where he worked from 2020 until 2023. During that time, the hotel received recognition as a Conde Nast Traveler Readers Choice Award winner and was awarded “The Green Michelin Star.”
