NAGPUR: Eleven passengers together with seven girls died and almost 25 had been injured when a Maharashtra State Transport Company bus overturned close to Bindravana Tola village on the Gondia-Arjuni street on Friday, police stated.

The bus was headed to Gondia in japanese Maharashtra from Bhandara district 50km away when the accident befell. Eight individuals died on the spot, whereas three others succumbed to their accidents on the hospital.

The accident befell at about 12:30pm when the driving force misplaced management of the bus whereas making an attempt to overhaul one other car and the bus flipped over.

Visuals from the spot present a big crowd gathered across the overturned car, with police vans, ambulances, and cranes deployed to help the injured. Witnesses stated the driving force fled the scene quickly after the crash.

Police stated 9 of the deceased have been recognized as Smita V. Suryavanshi, Mangala Rajesh Lanjewar, Rajesh Lanjewar, Kalpana Wankhede, Ramchandra Kanoje, Anjira Kanoje, Arifa Azahar Syyed, Azahar Ali Sayyed, and Nayana Vishal Mitkar.

The injured passengers had been taken to the government-run civil hospital in Gondia.

Caretaker chief minister Eknath Shinde expressed his condolences and directed the street transport company to offer fast help of 10 lakh to the victims.
